Note: The above assembly instructions show an OPTIONAL bypass (top). This bypass is handy for times when you may want to use non-filtered water or for disinfecting household plumbing. This would put chlorinated water in pipes overnight. Then you would flush out with purified water by turning the ball valve bypass off before using water in your house. Perform the following in order until you clear the clogged filter baskets: (Note: You will have a pressure tank (PT) if your water source is from a well; otherwise you are on a municipal source.) 1) Turn off water at control valve on Tank 1 by shutting off the ball valve shutoff. Also shut off the ball valve after all the filters to the house. 2) Depressurize water by opening spigot or backwash drain. 3) Remove filter cartridge. 4) Flush out Pressure Tank (PT)
if needed to remove rust & sediment buildup. 5) Put the control valve in the backwash position and unplug the power to it. This is so it will not rotate off to the next position until you are ready. 6) Turn water on at your new source and listen for water to run out the backwash drain. If your flow is good and strong, you may have corrected the problem. If not, proceed to the next steps. Check water pressure and flow at each point as needed as follows. Stop at the first point if flow is restored. 1. Disconnect union (connecting Tank 2 to Tank 3). Use bucket to catch water. If flow is good, reconnect & check to see if problem is fixed. If not, proceed to next step. 2. Disconnect black nut (between Tank 1 & 2). Repeat same procedure as before this. This should restore flow. 3. Hook everything up, plug system back in, etc. 4. Clean sump (inside of housing). Place cartridge back into housing.
