TWO Filter Tanks:
1. One filter tank with Dual Media - KDF®-55/"Premium Coconut Shell GAC" inhibits the growth of bacteria, algae, and fungus inside the unit. (EPA registration #066427-FL-001) KDF ®-55/"Premium Coconut Shell GAC" also removes chlorine, lead, mercury, and other heavy metals. Activated Coconut Shell Carbon removes the REAL contaminants - volatile organic chemicals (VOC's), pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, bad tastes and odors, and chlorine while leaving beneficial minerals in the water. The minerals turn out to be more beneficial than if they were in their normal state.

2. The 2nd tank has premium media that will provide excellent removal of Arsenic & Fluoride.

This system will also remove Parasites, Copepods & CYSTS (Cryptosporidium, Giardia Lamblia).

The solution:
The addition of a Chlorine Pre-Treatment System if you have iron or sulfur bacteria, mold, mildew, algae, E. Coli, or coliform. The whole house QUADRIONIC water purifing system, will ultimately remove all the chlorine and TTHM'S.

With the addition of the Arsenic - Fluoride Purification Filter there is even more removal of Arsenic & Fluoride than if using the single tank of "KDF®-55" & granular activated carbon (GAC) alone. This filter has State-of-the-Art media specifically formulated for selectively removing Arsenic, Fluoride, & Heavy Metals.

Raw water enters a 3-micron prefilter cartridge to remove the fine particulate. Then, the raw water enters the distribution tube and travels through the distribution basket. From here, water is dispersed through the "KDF®-55" media which removes the inorganic contaminants such as lead and other heavy metals on the EPA primary contaminant list... a function which carbon alone cannot do. By combining granular activated carbon with the patented redox media "KDF®-55", a synergy exists which increases the effective life of the carbon.

Chlorine, volatile organic chemicals (VOC's) such as THM's bad tastes and odors, are removed by adsorption into the bed of granular activated carbon (GAC). These form a maze of tortuous paths through which the water flows. These serve as "capture spaces" for the contaminants. The filtered water then exits the unit and passes through a 1-micron post-filter which catches any carbon fines that might leave the unit upon initial flush. The water is then ready to use.

Water chemistry is different throughout the world. This whole house water purifying filter system is made with NSF Certified materials and patented KDF ® media.

This water filtration system is manufactured and contain ingredients that are recognized as safe by the FDA (FDA) and the (EPA). The water filter system was tested by an independent laboratory to NSF Standard 53 (health effects). The Life Streams water filtration system contains KDF ®-55 (one of the active ingredients in "Premium Coconut Shell GAC") which is certified to ANSI/NSF 61 for drinking water system components (health effects).. This system is also certified to the requirements of states.
