You will need a Chlorine Pre-Treatment System installed before first tank
of any whole house filter system if you have:

Bacteria, e.g. Iron bacteria, sulfur bacteria, E. Coli, coliform Iron and/or sulfur level over 3 parts ppm Chlorine also removes tannins, mold, mildew & algae.

Note: Some of the above materials may coat filter media, stopping its catalytic action because no contact is actually made with its surface. Chlorine is needed to keep the filter media clean. This media itself will remove the Chlorine and keep it out of your water. All you need for Chlorine is inexpensive household bleach. Average use about 1 gallon per month.
