500K - 1000K Systems Installation

For 500K - 501K - 1000K - 1001K - 1500K - 1501K

500K System filters for approx. 1/2 million gallons.
1000K System filters for approx. 1 million gallons.

The Systems with 1-inch heads & distribution systems are called "501K" & "1001K", etc.,
otherwise the standard is 3/4-inches

1. The shutoff ball valve goes first. The shorter gray ¾" pipe nipple goes in one end and the other end hooks to "inlet" of 3-micron pre-filter.

2. Very Important! The outlet of pre-filter hooks into the "outlet" of the big tank filter. This leaves the "in" side free to hook up to the one-micron post filter housing inlet. The outlet then goes to the house.

3. After everything is hooked up and ready to turn water on, leave post filter cartridge out of housing.

4. Turn water on slowly until all of air escapes at nearest faucet. The water will run dark.

5. Once air is out, the water may be turned on faster and flushed until water looks clean. Once water is clear, shut off water and insert post filter cartridge into housing.

6. Note: The water will have a lot of air bubbles coming out for a few days. This is harmless. If you fill a clear glass, you will see bubbles rise to the top and leave the water crystal clear.

7. Replace filter cartridges every 12 months or when water flow slows.
